greetings and salutations! it’s been a while since we checked in on our kool blog. i am currently typing this on a laptop with a very broken screen, so i expect lots of typos. SORRY!!!
lots of stuff is in the works for the collective right now. there’s a lot we actually haven’t even bothered to post, which sucks and we’re sorry. 2/3 of us really suck at tumblr. the biggest change currently being anticipated is that there is a 90% chance we’re relocating in the next year, and a 66.6% chance it’ll nbe in the next 30 days. i say 66.6% not to make the obvious satanic joke, though we do dig that kind of thing here, but because there were three factors that would determine whether or not this particular move happened, and two of them panned out. the factors are as follows:
- did we like the place
- would be be able to borrow the money for down payments/lease breaks/assorted moving expenses
- would the other buyer we were in the running with contact the seller within his allotted time frame and beat us to the punch
the first two factors worked out in our favor, hence the 66.6%. we will know by tonight (hopefully) whether or not the home is ours.
a bit about the place: it’s a trailer on the eastern shore of maryland, in a small town near lots of family and friends. it has two bedrooms, a big bathtub and a washer and dryer. there’s a big tree in the yard and a wooden fence and beyond that, a big foresty area full of trees and wildlife. it’s owned by a normal human woman who also owns the lot itself, and that’s a big deal to our collective: no more slumlord exploitation. what a huge opportunity for us, to finally be able to live on independent land away from commerce and the threat of coming home one day to be surprised by finding all our shit on the lawn. the only thing holding us back from moving in right this minute is that another gentleman looked at the home a few days ago. he has until the end of today to decide, and if he doesn’t, it’s all ours. we are foaming at the mouth over this. we want it SO STINKIN BAD.
if it doesn’t pan out, of course, we have to stay put, at least until our current lease expires. which will suck and we’ll be sad. but we’ll just refocus our energy on finding where we’ll go next, because we’ve had about all of the shit here we can stand.
hope you’re all well. cheers! wish us luck!
